The children of the primary school Lieth can look forward to ten scooters and bicycle helmets. The vehicles were purchased by the school's support association to enrich the school's sports lessons and events. "We are happy that we can enrich the physical education lessons and events at our school with the scooters," says Natalja Weber, first chairperson of the support assoctiation. The vehicles are ideal for training balance and can be used as playful preparation for the bicycle test.
The purchase of the scooters was made possible by receiving one of the support packages from Westfalen Weser Energie, which the company awarded last year. The association received 750 euros for its scooter project. With the campaign "Ideas become reality - 100 sponsorship packages for associations in the region", the company supports new and particularly outstanding project ideas. Associations can still apply for a 2017 sponsorship package until the end of September at: ww-energie.com.
Happy about the new vehicles: Schoolchildren of the primary school Lieth with the members of the support association Andrea Ellerbrock, Natalja Weber and Valentina Beckin, as well as the Löckenhoff company, and Hubert Stork, Regional Area Manager Paderborn Westfalen Weser Netz, school headmaster Mrs Hellmich-Lührs (from left).
At the moment, as every year, the cycling tests for the fourth graders are taking place at the primary schools. To ensure that the children of the primary school "Auf der Lieth" learn how to handle their bikes safely from the very beginning, the school's sponsoring association has provided five scooters with helmets as well as four traffic signs this term. With these scooters, the children can train their motor skills from the 1st school year onwards before they switch to bicycles, and gradually also acquire safe knowledge of the traffic rules. In order to make this sensible purchase possible, the development association had applied for the competition "Ideas become reality - 100 development packages for associations in the region!" of the local energy service provider Westfalen Weser Energie and actually received - once again - one of the popular development packages. A smaller part of the costs was covered by the membership fees. The children thank all those involved very much!
The children of class 2 a, the headmistress Heike Hellmich-Lührs and the board of the Friends of the School: Petra Koch-Lütke Westhues, Bernd Brockhoff and Steffen Priesterjahn (from left to right) are happy about the new acquisitions.
